We had the pleasure of hosting Pratiksha Ghildial, Reporter and Producer at Large for BBC Global News, to Hunting Island State Park and introducing her to the FOHI Sea Turtle Conservation Project where she joined the team for an on site journey of our Loggerhead Conservation Program. 

 

This BBC radio piece was recorded on Hunting Island during sea turtle patrol on Monday 7/26/2021.  Nest 128 was found that day, and you can hear several of our volunteers being asked questions regarding the nest and sea turtles in general. Also, this clip references temperature based sex determination in degrees Celsius. The conversion for us USA folks is 84.4 degrees Fahrenheit;  Anything higher skews development towards female and anything lower towards male.
