WHAT IS A NEST INVENTORY?
A nest inventory is an evaluation of a hatched nest that is conducted at a set number of days to determine the hatching success of the nest. We dig up the nest contents to see how many eggs hatched, how many did not, how many hatchlings made it out of the nest and how many didn't. Hatchlings, both alive and dead, MAY be found. There may an unpleasant odor associated with the nest contents. We welcome you to observe but want you to be prepared for these possibilities.
