Fishing at Hunting Island
THE PIER IS BACK! After the 2016 visit from Hurricane Matthew wreaked havoc on the Nature Center Pier, we are pleased to announce that after 4 1/2 years the Fishing Pier reopened on September 18, 2021 after an extensive rehabilitation. Come visit this stunning new ICON!
Fishing in South Carolina is popular year-round for fresh water, large mouth, red-breast, and catfish. The salt-water species vary from trout, redfish and flounder inshore to marlin, dolphin, king mackerel, snapper, grouper and much more offshore and are specialties of Hunting Island State Park. Bring your gear and find serenity in the Lagoon or casting in the ocean. We have it covered.
