Friends of Hunting Island Outreach Programs

Hunting Island Beaches

One of the main purposes of The Friends of Hunting Island is to educate the Public about Hunting Island State Park and the Friends of Hunting Island. Our intent is to provide information which will foster interest in the natural environment and wildlife and strengthen bonds and friendships within the Beaufort County community.

We have individuals available to speak to organizations, citizens groups, educational institutions and anyone interested in learning more about Hunting Island State Park and the Friends of Hunting Island State Park. Topics may include a general briefing on the Island, programs and projects that are being worked on, future planning, environmental issues, and citizen involvement.

As requested we will work to provide any subject you wish or package a talk to meet your needs.

Please contact Chuck Lurey or call (843) 838- 3444.

We need only two simple things to provide the services and projects you see described on this website; your participation and your tax-deductible membership fees. For one $40 membership contribution, you and your family can join our Friends organization for one year. All members are encouraged to participate in any of our on-going projects. If you do not wish to join, but want to donate to our efforts, Click here to make a tax deductible donation to FOHI.
