One of the main purposes of the Friends of Hunting Island is to educate the public about Hunting Island State Park. Our intent is to provide information which will foster interest in the natural environment and wildlife and strengthen bonds and friendships within the Beaufort County community.
We have individuals available to speak to organizations, citizens groups, educational institutions, and anyone interested in learning more about Hunting Island State Park and the Friends of Hunting Island. Topics may include a general briefing about the island, programs and projects that are underway, future planning, environmental issues, and citizen involvement.
As requested, we will work to provide any subject you wish or package a talk to meet your needs. Just send us a note through the Contact page and we’ll get back in touch soon.
We need only two things to provide the services and projects you see described on this website: your participation and your tax-deductible membership fees. For one $40 membership contribution, you and your family can join Friends of Hunting Island and have unlimited access to the park for one year. All members are encouraged to participate in any of our on-going projects. If you do not wish to join, but want to donate to our efforts, click here to make a tax-deductible donation to the Friends of Hunting Island.
